BHUBANESWAR: Ignoring increasing opposition to the MoU signing spree which puts additional pressure on rivers and land, the State High Level Clearance Authority (SHLCA) on Tuesday okayed 13 more industrial proposals entailing an investment of  Rs 1 lakh crore.

MALKANGIRI: Heavy loss of kharif crops has been reported from Podia and Kalimela blocks of the district.

The crop cutting report submitted to the State Government recently revealed that there has been 50 to 70 per cent (pc) crop loss in the various non-irrigated lands of Maoist-infested Kalimela and Podia blocks.

The tribal-dominated and Maoist-prone Malkan-giri had a historical occasion when, within 15 days, the district administration distributed forestland pattas to as many as 5,113 tribal families, including those belonging to the Bonda and Didayi tribes.
