With a view to implementing Nandan Orchard scheme under National Horticulture Mission, ten districts have been selected in Madhya Pradesh. Under the scheme, around hundred beneficiaries will be selected for imparting training to them.

In order to ensure smooth supply of drinking water in various parts of the State facing drinking water scarcity, the State Government have sanctioned an amount of Rs 7 crore 22 lakh 54 thousand for transportation of drinking water in nine districts during the current summer season.

The Planning Commission (Govt. of India) has issued investment clearance for Upper Narmada Irrigation Project, proposed in Dindori district of Narmada Valley. This ambitious project would create irrigation potential of 18616 Ha. in Tribal dominated Dindori and Anuppur district. This is one of the major dam projects of Master Plan 1972 in which 29 major dam projects is to be built in the Valley.

Madhya Pradesh is first in the country to prepare a master plan of each village. Working continuously on the decentralised district employment plan, the work of giving it final touches has begun from Sunday. In five districts of the State, the decentralised district plan system has already been implemented. Now, it will be implemented in the remaining districts.

To remedy pilferage and corruption in the public distribution system (PDS), Madhya Pradesh has decided to introduce a pilot scheme to deliver cheap foodgrain on the beneficiaries' doorsteps.

New Delhi: Four new nuclear power plants proposed by Nuclear Power Corporation of India have run into trouble with the environment and forests ministry rejecting their initial applications for statutory environmental clearances.

Bhopal: The state government has sanctioned Rs 1 crore four lakh for financial assistance to the calamity victims of Mandla, Vidisha, Dhar, Balaghat, Khargone, Anuppur and Ujjain districts. This amount has been allocated to the concerning district collectors for clearing the pending bills of assistance to victims of snakebite, hailstorm, fire and other needy persons.
