KOLKATA, 16 NOV: The proposed nuclear power plant at Haripur in East Midnapore will come up only if local people willingly give their land for the project, said chairman of Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) and secretary of Department of Atomic energy (DAE), Mr Anil Kakodkar, in Kolkata this afternoon.
KOLKATA: Two people were killed and nearly 11.5 lakh affected in certain districts of south Bengal by floods caused when large quantities of water were released over the past two days from the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) reservoirs .
