SHILLONG: The Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) is planning to set up a processing plant at Mawthabah in connection with uranium mining.

NONGSTOIN: Following incessant rains for almost a week, West Khasi Hills district was hit by a flash flood on Thursday, the worst of its kind in a while, with Nongstoin being the most affected.

SHILLONG: The KHADC along with the Hima Nongstoin Land Owners’ Coal Traders’ & Producer’s Association will approach Supreme Court with regard to the NGT ban on coal mining in the state.

A petition has been filed in the Apex Court against the NGT ban on coal mining in Meghalaya following which a notice was served to All Dimasa Students’ Union by the Court on Thursday.
