This draft of the mineral policy- 2010 for Madhya Pradesh details measures to ensure exploitation of mineral resource for optimum and sustainable development of the State. It is an attempt to ensure that the mineral resources are developed in a scientific & systematic manner and the environmental & ecological issues are addressed.

An Act to provide for the scientific development of mines and minerals under the control of the Union and the regulation of activities connected therewith. This Act may be called the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 2010. It extends to the whole of India.

Though this report, finalised as early as December, 2008, has been doing surreptitious rounds in government, legal and mining circles, it is yet to be made public.
