Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Residents of Bhatpara Municipality Vs State of West Bengal dated 14/10/2019 regarding illegal sand mining in District North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, near Naihati Bandel Railway Bridge, Kanchrapara Bansberia Road Bridge at Jagatdal Meghna Ghat.

Report submitted by the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) and the letter of District Magistrate affirmed the presence of illegal mining and its closure but further time was requested to recover environmental compensation.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Balkrishan Vyas Vs State of Rajasthan dated 10/10/2019 regarding illegal blasting and mining by M/s Jindal Saw Ltd., Bhilwada, Rajasthan. The Tribunal had sought a factual and action taken report from the SDM, Bhilwada and Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) on the matter. The report submitted acknowledged vibrations but was unable to specify the cause. In addition to it, the District Magistrate Bhilwada had constituted a team of experts on July 2019 and report is awaited.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Nityanand Mishra Vs State of Madhya Pradesh & Others dated 10/10/2019 regarding mining in Son Gharial Sanctuary, Madhya Pradesh.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Common Cause Vs Union of India & Others dated 04/10/2019 regarding grant of permission to M/s. Essel Mining to resume mining in Odisha, since they have paid the entire amount of penalty and interest as per the order of the SC. Further, the mineral-based industry has also got all clearances. The case related to violation of Mineral Concession Rule 1960 and Mines and Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act 1957.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Bhagwan Bhoite & Others Vs The Collector, Ahmednagar & Others dated 01/10/2019 regarding severe air pollution due to operation of a stone crusher unit in village Ghutewadi, Taluka Shrigonda, District Ahmednagar run by M/s. Dineschandra R. Agarwal Infracon Pvt. Ltd. It is alleged that the plant is run mostly at night and is located near to a school and agricultural lands. Apart from this, the unit is stated to fall within the limits of the Eco-Sensitive Zone (ESZ) of Great Indian Bustard Sanctuary.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rana Randeep Singh Vs Union of India & Others dated 01/10/2019 regarding Environmental Clearance (EC) granted by the State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), Himachal Pradesh to a mineral-based industry for mining of sand, stone and bajri in river Yamuna.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Birsa Munda Seba Sartha Vs Union of India & Others dated 27/09/2019 regarding unrestricted mining of sand from the riverbed of river Basloi, Jharkhand and a gross contravention of the Jharkhand State Sand Mining Policy, 2017. It is contended that as per the policy the State Government is required to categorize streams/rivers for strict regulation of sand mining. This, as per the applicant, has not been done in the District Survey Report (DSR) on sustainable sand mining prepared by the Pakur District Authorities, Jharkhand.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Amit Upadhaya Vs State Level Environmental Impact Assessment Authority & Others dated 25/09/2019 regarding lack of EIA for many minor mineral mining projects in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunl in the matter of Naresh Kumar Parmar Vs Union of India & Others dated 17/09/2019 regarding mining leases operating in Ambaji, Banas Kantha District of Gujarat dumping overburden in the natural drain which had the potential of obstructing the natural flow of water and causing siltation of the water courses in the entire mining area.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Pradeep Kumar Singh Vs State of Jharkhand dated 02/09/2019 regarding illegally operating stone crushers affecting the ecology and wildlife in villages Choti Bhagiamari, Ambadih, Motijharna and Kalyani in District Sahebganj, Jharkhand.
