NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government has decided to introduce a monorail service in the Capital in the next three-four years as it considers it

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government is pushing hard the Union railway minister Mamata Banerjee to get a good deal for the state from the railway budget. The state wants to get maximum allocation for the 29 railway projects that it has proposed with the Centre.

The proposal includes 21 new routes and expansion of two routes.

A single smart card will enable the payment of fares for multiple modes of transport: the Metro, the monorail, buses of various municipal bodies and the suburban railway.

The Unified Mumbai Metropolitan Transport Authority (UMMTA) is working on the smart card, the need triggered by the yearend schedule for the opening of the Metro and the monorail.

A Malaysia-based infrastructure solution provider has evinced interest in setting up a monorail connection between Majherhat and Joka, recently proposed by railway minister Mamata Banerjee.

Mumbai: The historic monorail rake that did the first test run in Mumbai on Republic Day will not stay in the city for long. NEW DELHI: With the first phase of the Mumbai monorail project scheduled to take off by the end of this month, the Malaysian global infrastructure provider through its outfit Scomi Engineering Bhd is now turning its attention to Delhi and other metro townships in India to provide a smooth alternative as part of their integrated multi-modal transport system strategy.
