The Archaeologi cal Survey of India has handed over the entire Hampi World Heritage Site to the Bengaluru circle. The much awaited move has been taken on the demand of various stakeholders and conservationists to ensure better administration.

Environmentalists have called for concerted efforts to elevate Delhi to the status of World Heritage City. The Delhi environment department has started planting trees on Yamuna bank.

In 2005, the London-based organisation had proposed a Victoria Memorial annexe that would promote Indian art and culture.
