ANGUL: The State Government may rope in Nalco as a partner in the expansion of the fifth and the sixth units of Stateowned Ib Thermal Power Plant.

Coal supply to 1080 Mw captive power plant of the public sector National Aluminium Company (Nalco) located at Angul may be snapped soon as the Bharatpur coal mine in the Talcher coalfields which supplies coal to this plant is on the verge of closure due to non-availability of land.

Planned large-scale mechanised mining of minerals contributes substantially to the state and national exchequers. This is well-evident in the case of Orissa.
