Grievance in this application is against unscientific disposal of the stones and muck generated from Tuni Chandni Tunal Motor Road construction work in Chakrata, district Dehradun, in the forest area. According to the applicant, during construction of the road by the Uttarakhand Public Works Department (UPWD), necessary safeguards are not being observed resulting in damage to the environment.

This writ petition is one filed by Trivandrum Chamber of Commerce and Industry along with its President seeking a writ of mandamus commanding the respondents as well as law enforcement agencies including Police to formulate and issue guidelines for earmarking certain public areas in State of Kerala for the purpose of holding mass assemblies, including protests, campaigns, demonstrations, etc.

Permission was sought for felling of 317 trees, which were coming in the way of the project of widening and strengthening of a six-lane road from Avantibai crossing to Rohta.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Jagdish Chandra Pandey Vs State of Uttarakhand & Others dated 11/09/2020. Grievance in this application was against violation of environmental norms during construction of Kotila-Gawad-Suraikhet Motor Road in tehsil Dwarahat, district Almora, Uttarakhand. It is alleged that large number of trees are being damaged during the construction of the road and in spite of complaints lodged with the authorities, no remedial action has been taken.
