Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of In re: Compliance of Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 and other environmental issues dated 23/02/2023.

The matter related to monitoring of waste in terms of Supreme Court orders dated September 2, 2014 and February 22, 2017.

The Chief Secretary, Gujarat accepted the fact that there was a gap of about 1005 MLD in sewage generation and treatment and legacy waste of 255 Lakh MT as well as 1452 TPD of unprocessed waste.

A period of two months was granted by the NGT to a joint committee to submit a report on allegations of a residential colony developed by M/s. Megasons Company dumping solid waste and discharging untreated sewage in the open.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board Vs B Prathap Reddy & Others dated 21/02/2023. Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has deposited Rs.10,00,00,000 (rupees ten crores) on December, 12, 2022. Rs. 5,00,00,000 (rupees five crores) will be deposited on or before March 31, 2023.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ashwani Yadav Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi dated 16/02/2023.

The matter related to pollution of river Yamuna.

Report of the joint committee and action taken report in compliance of the National Green Tribunal in Original Application No. 744 of 2022 (Moharram Ali Vs State of Uttar Pradesh) and Original Application No. 277/2022 (Liyakat Ali & Others Vs State of UP). Two matters have been clubbed together in the report.

Kolhapur irrigation Division has completed the work of demarcation of blue and red line in portion of Kolhapur city area as well as from Prayag Chikali to Rukdi of Panchganga river for the total length of 31.34 kms.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Devanshu Bose Vs Agra Development Authority & Others dated 18/01/2023.

Grievance in the application is against failure of the state authorities to prevent discharge of sewage on open land from ‘Nalanda Town’, a housing colony developed by a builder at Shamshabad Road area of Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Sewage is estimated to be 1.45 lakh litres per day. Agra Development Authority (ADA) is primarily responsible for such failure, the complaint said.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Srikanta Kumar Pakal & Others Vs State of Odisha & Others dated 09/01/2023.

The matter related to discharge of waste water by M/s. Hotel Presidency, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

The court noted that the test report of water samples of the hotel show high levels of biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), total suspended solids (TSS) as well as faecal coliform. However, these "two test reports do not give the standards/regulatory limits".

Joint committee inspection report in the matter of Original Application No. 89/2022 'Rahul Sharma Vs Divisional Railway Manager, Bhopal & Others.

The report was in response to the National Green Tribunal order, 21/11/2022.

The matter related to pollution caused due to the loading and unloading of cement, fertilizer and food grains which was carried out in the open at the railway good shed, Itarsi, Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh.

Final report of the Monitoring Committee constituted by the National Green Tribunal on various environment issues in the state of Punjab, with respect to compliance of order dated February 8, 2022 in Original Application No. 360 of 2018 in the matter of Shree Nath Sharma Vs Union of India & Others.

The report mentioned the compliance status of environmental norms in respect of various thematic areas as mentioned in District Environment Plans of various districts of state of Punjab. The report was submitted on December 27, 2022.
