Updated report of the Oversight Committee on pollution caused to Kosi river in Rampur district by polluting industrial activities. River Bhella in Moradabad is a tributary of Kosi river in Rampur which is a tributary of Ramganga which in turn is a tributary of river Ganga. Though pollution is caused in these rivers by industries situated both in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the Oversight Committee considered the units situated only in Uttar Pradesh because there is a separate Oversight Committee for Uttarakhand.

Action taken report in compliance of the National Green Tribunal order of July 1, 2020 in the Original Application No. 804/2017 in the matter of Rajiv Narayan & Others Vs Union of India & Others. The matter related to hazardous waste management in India.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of James Jose, Managing Director, CGR Hallmarkers Pvt. Ltd. Vs Government of India dated 19/01/2021. The issue for consideration was the need for a regulatory regime to check acidic activities in testing of gold.  

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ravi Sharma Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 18/01/2021. The matter related to the allegation of unscientific dumping of bio-medical waste in open in Bijoli area of Jhansi district, Uttar Pradesh, resulting in pollution of air, water and land and causing diseases to the inhabitants of the area.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 15/01/2021.

The matter related to remedial action against unscientific disposal of e-waste resulting in contamination of ground water and soil acidification. Question for consideration inter alia is whether in terms of the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016 (EWMR), there is due enforcement of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), authorization regime, collection and dismantling and other steps.

Final affidavit by the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC) in Original Application No. 72 of 2020 regarding scientific disposal of bio-medical waste arising out of COVID-19 treatment and compliance of BMW Rules 2016.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Pushpendra Kumar Vs Nagarpanchayat, Kadaura & Others dated 13/01/2021.

The matter related to restoration of a water body called the main pond (Sadar Bazar) of Kadaura town, district Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh. It is stated that such restoration is necessary for access to drinking water. Direction is also sought to stop continuous burning of solid plastic waste, garbage cans, electronics waste, glass inside the residential area of town Kadaura that emits poisonous gases causing severe air pollution.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Meera Shukla Vs Municipal Corporation, Gorakhpur & Others dated 12/01/2021.

The issue for consideration is the remedial action for contamination of water bodies and ground water, specially Ramgarh Lake, Ami River, Rapti River and Rohani River in and around District Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The matter has been pending for the last more than six years.
