Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of S.D. Windlesh Vs. Govt. of NCT of Delhi dated 05/07/2016 regarding cutting of around 400 trees for widening a road in Delhi without permission by Public Works Department (PWD). Tribunal imposes a fine of Rs. 10,000/- on the Chief Engineer and Director of the Horticulture Department and they also gave an undertaking to the Tribunal that within two weeks 2000 trees will be planted and videography would be prepared and submitted to be Tribunal on the next date of hearing.

The population of the state is about 5 crore and each individual is advised to plant three saplings.
