The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has tied up with Pune-based Sharmik Sanitations to provide mobile sanitation facilities in the city of Panjim. The Commissioner of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) Melwyn Vaz disclosed that the corporation proposes to hire mobile toilets to be stationed in public places for he purpose of providing basic sanitation facilities.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is all set to unveil Ghazipur Meat Processing Plant with a trial run starting from Wednesday. Mr Vijender Gupta, chairman, standing committee, said that a team of eight experts from Germany was already providing training to the MCD staff as well as outside professionals. "Around 60 butchers are being trained in handling the new equipment. The trial run will be held as part of training,' he said.

A section of conversancy workers of Tambaram Municipality, along with their families, have appealed to the local body to improve sanitation facilities in their locality in Gandhi Nagar. The Delhi gov ernment will soon to take up an integrated sanitation scheme in the city to ensure that all people get the minimum standard of hygiene and do not go in the open for their toilet needs. The Delhi Cabinet will soon give its nod to a proposal to adopt the integrated sanitation scheme under the national rural sanitation scheme to give subsidy of Rs 6,000 to the people taking sewer connections for their areas.

The city would be made free from the nasty sight of dustbins and the garbage strewn around them in just four months, said the commissioner, Mr Mukesh Kumar Meena, who returned from Hyderabad after attending a workshop there on sanitation. Talking to the reporters here, Mr Meena said already a pilot project has been launched in Ward Nos 6, 8, 9, 11, 18 and 19 on experimental basis and as it proved to be a successful venture, the project will be implemented all over the city in four months.
