Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of News Item Published in the 'The Hindu' Authored by Jacob Koshy Titled "More river stretches are now critically polluted: CPCB" dated 20/09/2018. According to the news item, 351 polluted river stretches have been noted by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). 117 such stretches are in the States of Assam, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Atul Singh Chauhan Vs. Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change & Others dated 20/09/2018 regarding sand mining in the river bed of Yamuna in Allahabad District without Environmental Clearance and in violation of the conditions of mining leases. Grievance of the applicant is that mining is being permitted contrary to the prohibitory norms in respect of in-stream mining and mining upto the depth of 4 to 6 meters by using pokland machines.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mahendra Singh Vs. State of Haryana & Others dated 20/09/2018 regarding stone crushing units in village Karota District Mahendergarh, Haryana and consequential degradation of environment. It is stated that the site of the stone crushers is within 400 mts. from Aravali plantation and reserve forest of village Mukandpura and 70 mts. from an educational institutional i.e. Aravali College for Education for B.Ed., in violation of siting criteria for establishment of stone crusher.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sudiep Shrivastava Vs. Union of India & Others dated 20/09/2018. This appeal is against the order passed by the State Government allowing diversion of forest land in favour of Chhattisgarh East West Rail Corridor Ltd., for construction of East West Rail Corridor from Marwahi Forest Division (77.178 ha.) and Katghora Forest Division (382.344 ha.) under Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980 in Bilaspur and Korba District in the State of Chhattisgarh, subject to conditions.

State of Himachal Pradesh & Others dated 19/09/2018 regarding severe degradation of environment in Kullu and Manali areas of the State of Himachal Pradesh. It was alleged that the consent to various projects was freely given in the area in violation of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and encroachments of forest land was freely allowed in connivance with the concerned Authorities.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sanju Monica Vs. State of Tamil Nadu & Others dated 19/09/2018. The applicant seeks to assail construction of a Decentralized Micro Composting Centre under a Special Solid Waste Management Project in the city of Salem. It is alleged that the land on which the project is being set up on a site which is in the heart of the city surrounded by schools, hospitals, etc.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Praveen Kakar & Ors. Vs. MOEF&CC & Ors. dated 19/09/2018. Allegations in this application, inter-alia, are that there is encroachment of parks in green areas in Block C of Sushant Lok, Phase I, Gurgaon. Illegal extraction and supply of ground water which is contaminated is taking place. There is absence of water harvesting system. There is absence of sewerage treatment plant. The sewerage of the area connects the storm water drain.
