The petition is disposed of as the Court noted that in the case of Deepak Kumar and others Vs. State of Haryana and others [(2012) 4 SCC 629] Court had had clearly stated that environmental clearance is required for mining of sand and bajri and the State Governments were directed to frame rules accordingly.

All the State Governments shall ensure that there is no illegal, unauthorized and mechanized mining of the river beds contrary to/without Environmental Clearance and the consent of the Pollution Control Boards.
