Radiation emitted from Cell Phones, Cell phone towers, Wi-Fi, TV and FM towers, microwave ovens, etc. are called
Electromagnetic radiations (EMR). EMR causes significant health hazards (biological effects) on human, animals, birds, plants and environment.

Trashing fears that radiations from mobile towers cause health hazards, the government on Friday said no such adverse impact has been established so far and the country follows the best of practices.

"In 2010, WHO has stated that a large number of studies have been conducted over last two decades to assess whether mobile phone radiation from towers pose a potential risk. To date, no adverse health effect has been established," Minister of State for Communications Milind Deora said.

GURGAON: In a bizarre move, the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) has decided to seal all the mobile towers in its jurisdiction with immediate effect, citing health hazards.

The Telecom Ministry has rejected a proposal to ban setting up of mobile towers near schools and hospitals.
