NGT directs a committee to be constituted to inspect the industry concerned and take appropriate steps to examine the self-assessment report submitted by the Applicant industry Sai Sulphonates Pvt. Ltd.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Legal Aid Services-West Bengal Vs Union of India & Others dated 13/12/2017 regarding pollution caused by Mejia Thermal Power Station, Bankura, West Bengal. The Enquiry Report substantiates environmental degradation both in terms of air and water pollution and therefore the Court directs the power plant to show cause before the next date (31/01/2018) as to why the plant shall not be ordered to be shut down for not having followed the pollution norms.

NGT directs that no pilgrim/devotee/person would be permitted to carry any article from the last stairs leading to the holy cave and from the end point of stairs and area of the holy cave only shall be treated as silence zone.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Samriddhi Goswami Vs. Union of India & Others regarding noise pollution by Delhi Metro dated 12/12/2017. NGT disposes of this application with the direction that DMRC shall maintain and adhere to the prescribed norms of noise pollution while carrying on its activity. The Court also directs the Delhi Pollution Control Committee to keep a complete supervision in that behalf.
