PALAKKAD: The police on Tuesday prevented more Adivasi families from setting up huts in the controversial wind farm land at Nallasingha in Attapadi.

The nine Adivasi families, which have already built huts in the land, on Tuesday strengthened their huts with hay and other materials. They also brought their cattles to the land.

KOCHI: The Navy and the Forest Department will organise a tree planting campaign at Mahavir Enclave, Mundamveli, on Tuesday, as a part of the biodiversity conservation initiative.

The initiative includes creating awareness, assisting decision-makers in protecting biodiversity-rich pockets, and action to create bio-rich spaces.
