According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) annual report for July 2020-June 2021, the all-India female labour force participation rate (LFPR) in ordinary status grew 2.3 percent to 25.1 percent in 2021, up from 22.8 percent the previous year.

After the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, 0.7 per cent of the country’s population was a ‘temporary visitor’ in households during July 2020-June 2021, a report named ‘Migration in India 2020-21’, released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) showed.

The unemployment rate for persons of 15 years and above in urban areas slipped to 8.7 per cent in October-December 2021 from 10.3 per cent in the year-ago quarter, showed a periodic labour force survey by the National Statistical Office (NSO).

This first volume of the EnviStats – India 2022 was published by the National Statistical Office of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, on March 31, 2022. The EnviStats were first published in 2018 and this is the fifth edition in the series.

This publication, the 28th in the series, is an updated and integrated repository of statistics on energy resources and highlights the India’s commitment and the progress made so far in the area of reliable, sustainable and efficient energy systems in the country.

Agriculture and allied sectors (i.e. crops, livestock, forestry and logging, fishing and aquaculture) play a vital role in Indian economy. It contributes around 18% of the country's Gross Value Added at basic prices and employs nearly half of the workforce.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were adopted by the United Nations in September 2015 for the next 15 years covering all aspects of development. Countries were expected to implement the SDGs at national level based on national priorities.

The Ministry is now releasing ‘Sustainable Development Goals - National Indicator Framework, Progress Report 2021 (version 3.0) which shows the data-based evidence of India’s progress towards achieving the SDGs and associated targets. The report will also help policy makers in identifying thrust areas where interventions need to be focused.
