Cases of hepatitis-C are increasing in the district every year. Health Department data says the district has witnessed 6.5-fold increase in cases between 2014 and 2018.

The issue for consideration is the remedial measures against contamination of ground water on account of leachate discharge adversely affecting the inhabitants and failure to comply with solid waste management norms, including burning of waste. Foul smell emitted by the garbage dumped is affecting the air quality.
