Pune In a first of its kind initiative by city-based Indian Institute of Tropical Meterology (IITM), scientists of the institute will assess the quality of air in Delhi during the Commonwealth Games next year. Scientists will be able to predict pollution levels 24 hours in advance at 10 key locations.

Sept. 8: The Delhi government is going for carbon mapping of the city in its attempt to curb pollution. Inspired by London, which has done similar carbon mapping, the Delhi government has assigned the work to Delhi University.

Air pollution in Quetta has increased to a dangerous level. This was stated by the Balochistan Secretary of Environment Munir Ahmed Badini in a statement here on Wednesday. He said that the Clean Air Quality initiative of Quetta city held a meeting at the IUCN, Quetta Office, to discuss the threat posed by urban air pollution.

CHENNAI: The level of total suspended particulate matter in the ambient air at a traffic junction in Vallalar Nagar during the 24-hour period ending 6 a.m. on Friday was 302 micrograms/cubic metre as against the permissible limit of 200 micrograms/cubic metre.
