In Nagaland, three species (Tetragonula irridipenis, Tetragonula laviceps and Lophotrigona canifrons) of stingless bees were observed; however, most of the beekeepers were rearing T. irridipenis. Stingless bees were found to prefer low light, high humidity, and stenothermal climatic conditions with diverse abundant flora. The traditional colony capture method of terrestrial and subterranean stingless bee was logical and practical and shows immense scope to introduce precise method with scientific interventions.

The present study evaluated bamboo (Dendrocalamus strictus) based resource conservation in the Yamuna ravines at Central Soil and Water Conservation Research and Training Institute, Research Centre, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Ravine lands are highly degraded dry lands and 3.97 m ha area is affected by ravines in India. One ravine micro watershed of 2.8 ha area was planted with two rows of bamboo in staggered manner as vegetative barrier for the analysis of hydrological and economic aspect of bamboo plantation.

In the production of coal West-Bokaro area of Central Coalfields Limited, Ranchi plays a vital role. During the production of coal, it produces huge quantity of suspended particulate matter (SPM), respirable particulate matter (RPM/PM10) as well as gaseous pollutants. Which polluted the area badly.

In the present study, the storage and sequestration of carbon is described for leguminous trees (Cassia siamia, Dalbergia sissoo) vs. non-leguminous tree (Tectona grandis Linn. f.) in red lateritic soil of Chhattisgarh.

Bhata land is an important lateritic and well known category of wastelands, which covers extensive area in Chhattisgarh. Sporadic patches of plantations have been raised in this land on experimental basis, for selecting suitable species for taking up large-scale plantations. Present study was carried out in 20-years old plantations at Mohan bhata in Bilspur district.

A World Bank-aided project on sodic land reclamation in Uttar Pradesh is being executed by U.P. Bhumi Sudhar Nigam, Lucknow, and Remote Sensing Applications Centre, U.P., Lucknow has the responsibility of sodic land mapping for the execution of land reclamation programme at the cadastral level.

Considering the stiff competition from various fruit producing countries, Indian growers have the great responsibility to keep the pesticide residue levels to the minimum to meet international standards. Various research organisations have developed integrated approaches to control pest and disease problems.

India must document and legally protect the farmers' varieties (FVs) and use them globally as a trade strategy.
