The surface sorption nature of bioadsorbents derived from leaves, stem or bark of Nerium odorum and Calotropis zygantia are successfully explored in extracting chromate ions from polluted water.

Distillery effluents represent a heavy source of environmental pollution owing to high concentration of readily decomposable organic matters. In this study, biogas potential of distillery wastewater treated in an anaerobic sequencing batch biofilm reactor (ASBBR) was investigated.

Photodegradation is one of the advanced oxidation processes rather than other treatments and it is most effective for the removal of organic pollutants. ZnO is an excellent photocatalytic oxidation material. In the present study nanosized ZnO has prepared by coprecipitation technique under different experimental conditions and employed in the removal of dyes colour.

The photocatalytic decolourisation and degradation of an azo dye acid red 73 (AR 73) in aqueous solution with TiO2 as photocatalyst in slurry form have been investigated using solar light.

Heavy metals are often present in water and wastewater as contaminants. From the public health and environmental protection point of view, it is important that their concentration should be within the permissible limit. Many technologies for heavy metals removal have been evolved, like ion exchange, chemical percipitation and reverse osmosis which are often expensive.

The present paper deals with relation between zooplankton and physico-chemical parameters.

Groundwater is a major source for domestic, agricultural and industrial activities. The present study was carried out with the objective identifying the suitability of groundwater for domestic and agricultural purposes in Vaniyar river basin in Tamil Nadu.

The present study was carried out for diurnal variations of water quality parameter in Kundawada Lake of Davangere district for 24 hr at 2 hr interval.

Farm tank (bodi) constitutes a small water reservoir constructed by using available natural materials to store rainwater for irrigation purposes during post monsoon season. It receives water from rainfall and runoff from the surrounding catchment area during monsoon period and this serves for irrigation purposes of paddy fields.

The present study aimed at determining seasonal variation of iron concentration in the ground water and surface water of Eloor, an industrial belt in the Ernakulam district of Kerala.
