This document details the Andhra Pradesh state organic farming policy aimed at promoting the use of organic manure and helping the farmers to get higher yield and price for the produce.

Hyderabad July 24: Several areas in the state including the Hyderabad urban zone and tribal districts are under the grip of malaria. Around 9,687 people have tested positive for the disease this year and at least 37,000 people suspend to be suffering from various fevers including malaria and viral infection. The increasing mosquito menace during the rainy season is the prime reason for the rise in cases of malaria. But authorities are not doing much to contain this problem.

Hyderabad, July 23: It will be a double bonanza for farmers and their children. While irrigation projects under the Jalayagnam banner will help the farmers to draw water, the state tourism department's initiative to develop tourism centres at the irrigation project sites will help the wards of the farmers earn a livelihood.

All the irrigation projects would be developed as regional centres of tourist attraction by creating modern entertainment amenities. Of 72 irrigation projects that are under construction in different districts, 34 projects have been identified as tourism centres.

Nellore, July 22: Potti Sri Ramulu Nellore district is not only famous for rice but also for mosquitoes. In fact, the hea-dquarters town, Nellore can be termed as a breeding centre for mosquitoes thanks to more than 10 irrigation canals and scores of open drains passing through it.

Hyderabad, July 22: The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (Huda) is planning to go for another round of land acquisition. This time it is for the radial roads project, which connects the Inner Ring Road with the Outer Ring Road. Several residential, commercial and defence properties will be acquired for widening the three radial roads. These include the road from Rethi Bowli to AP Police Academy, Langar Houz to Gandipet and Biramalguda to Manneguda.

Legal representatives of the warring Ambani brothers have requested the Bombay High Court, which is hearing the case relating to allocation of gas to be produced from the Krishna- Godavari (KG) basin, for successive court hearings so that the dispute could be resolved faster.

Appearing on behalf of elder brother Mukesh Ambani-controlled Reliance Industries (RIL), Harish Salve requested the division bench of Justice S P Mhase and Justice P B Varale for hearing the case on a day-to-day basis.

Hyderabad, July 21: Top companies such as Maytas Infra, Coromandal Fertilisers, Ramky Enviro Engineers, Delhi-based Jindal Water Infrastructure, and Bengaluru's Terra Fima Biotechnologies are vying to grab a project for segregation of garbage in Hyderabad. Several other firms from Noida, Navi Mumbai, Surat, New Delhi and Chennai are also in the reckoning.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is setting up the project to segregate garbage at source to keep the city environs free of toxic waste. As many as 22 companies from all over India have come forward to take up the project.

Hyderabad, July 21: Air pollution levels in the city are shooting up rapidly because of the exponential rise in the number of vehicles. "On an average, 600 new vehicles are entering our roads every day," said a senior transport official. This has been causing the air pollution to go beyond acceptable levels. For instance, the total suspended particulate matter (TSPM) in the air should be 200 milligram per cubic metre but the average value being recorded in the twin cities is 280 milligram per cubic metre.

Khammam, July 20: Keeping the demand in the district for fertilisers in view, the government decided to send a consignment of 2,500 tonnes. The District Central Cooperative Bank (DCCB) is selling the fertilisers to farmers through its primary agricultural cooperative societies.

The DCCB so far sold fertilisers worth of Rs 8 crore to farmers in the district and all the stock is over within a month. The farmers are approaching the concerned PACS for the fertilisers. The increasing demand for urea and potassium fertilisers forced the DCCB to take quich action.
