Rajahmundry, May 30: The supply of piped cooking gas which is on the cards for the last two years will become reality soon in East Godavari.
The district is likely to be covered in two phases. In the first phase, the five municipal areas of Kakinada corporation, Samarlakota, Peddapuram, Pithapuram and Tuni will be covered, and in the second phase, Rajahmundry and other municipal areas.

Hyderabad, May 12: The civil supplies department wants to remove Rs 25 subsidy on each LPG cylinder supplied for domestic use.

The Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, however, was cautious of the proposal and wanted the matter to be posed to the Cabinet before taking a final decision.

The matter was discussed during a review meeting held by the Chief Minister on Wednesday.

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh's planners have much to cheer over Friday's Supreme Court ruling in the feud between the Ambani brothers over pricing of the gas from the Krishna-Godavari offshore field as it will open doors for gas allocation for new projects.

Suzlon Green Power Limited (SGP), part of the Suzlon group, will set up 50-Mw wind turbines in Andhra Pradesh with an investment of about Rs 300 crore.

Speaking to Business Standard, SGP projects head N Ramani said the wind farms would come up at Gandikota in Kadapa district and Vajrakudur in Ananatapur district.

NEW DELHI:The Centre has agreed to provide an additional 8.63 million cubic metres of natural gas a day (mcmd) to Andhra Pradesh and with this, the State's requirement of 18 mcmd has been met, according to Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister .
