NEW DELHI: Even as innovative and cheaply priced products targeted at India's booming middle class are helping to spur domestic consumption and growth, this segment of the population remains vulnerable to economic shocks and carefully calibrated policy measures will be needed to sustain income gains in the longer-term, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has said.

Ranchi, July 16: In an immense impetus to its communication infrastructure, Jharkhand today signed a $ 200 million (approximately Rs 920 crore) loan agreement with Asian Development Bank (ADB) for a two-lane road stretching 311km between Govindpur near Dhanbad and Sahebganj.

To this end, an agreement was signed by M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, secretary of Economic Relations Division, and Thevakumar Kandiah, ADB's country director, in Dhaka yesterday, according to a press statement.
