The minister of Bihar State Industries, launched the Ethanol Production Promotion Policy, 2021 on March 19, 2021. After the approval of the policy by the state cabinet, Bihar became the first state in India to have an ethanol promotion policy under the National Policy of Biofuels, 2018.

The land of the area, ground water, forest and wildlife are also affected.

The NGT October 14 directed a fresh district survey report (DSR) for sand mining in Banka district of Bihar.

An application filed in the NGT said that an interim district survey report (DSR) was prepared for sand mining in Banka district in the year 2018 but that was never finalized.
