On Thursday, JDA officials gave directions to prepare an expression on interest (EOI) in this regard.In Model 4 affordable housing schemes, the developer will construct the buildings on government land. The JDA has identified 14 such government land in a consolidated area of the city for constructions under this model.

Mumbai The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly on Monday passed the Maharashtra Housing (Regulation and Development) Bill, 2012, which seeks to set up what will be the country’s first realty industry regulator. While the Bill is expected to be passed in the Legislative Council during the ongoing session, the law will come into force only following the President’s assent.

While the President’s assent could take up to six months, the government of Maharashtra will, in the meantime, draft rules and work towards finalising candidates to be appointed as members of the body.

Chandigarh Taking a serious view of exploitation of ground water in Gurgaon, Punjab and Haryana High Court today barred issuance of any fresh license for construction activity unless builders give an undertaking that underground water would not be drawn by them.

The court asked the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to ensure that the undertaking by the builder or individuals should make clear the source of water drawn by them for construction purposes in Gurgaon, Delhi's satellite city which has become base of several MNCs over the years.

World Bank funded Odisha State Roads Project (OSRP) is suffering a cost escalation of Rs 623.68 crore, marred by delay in work execution by contractors.

The total project cost which was initially estimated at Rs 1431.19 crore has now been revised to Rs 1938.6 crore in accordance with a restructuring proposal prepared by the state government as per the stipulations and guidelines of the bank. The Rs 250-crore road project of the Delhi-based DS Construction (DSC) Limited in Chhattisgarh is heading for a bumpy ride with company’s another effort to set up toll plaza going into vain.

The Chhattisgarh High Court has granted stay on the proposed toll plaza in Sunder Nagar locality on the 44 km Tatibandh (through ring road) and Arang four-lane project that DSC had constructed. The company had bagged the contract from National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in 2006 on Built-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis.

A mega information technology project at the Infopark and a multi-crore hospital-cum-convention centre in Ernakulam district are among the first nine projects in the State to get environment clearance from the newly-constituted State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA).

The SEIAA has approved the projects based on the recommendation given by the State Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC). Among the nine projects that have received the environment clearance, four are in Ernakulam.
