A special programme to control dengue will be carried out islandwide this month as during the month as the Health Ministry hopes to control the possibility of another outbreak with the onset of South West monsoon in May and June.

As well as dengue fever (DF) and dengue haemorrhagic fever-dengue shock syndrome (DHF/DSS), other atypical manifestations of dengue virus infection have also been reported. The frequency of CNS involvement in dengue remains unknown, although isolated cases with neurological manifestations have been reported in Southeast Asia, Malaysia, Burma, Puerto Rico and India.

RAWALPINDI, March 30: City district government has launched post-winter spray campaign against dengue virus in all the 46 union councils of the city.

The month-long campaign was kicked off by District Coordination Officer Jamal Mustafa Syed at Fauji Colony near Pirwadhai on Monday.
