Judgement of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Swapnil Tripathi & Others Vs Supreme Court of India dated 26/09/2018. The petitioners have sought a declaration that Supreme Court case proceedings of “constitutional importance having an impact on the public at large or a large number of people” should be live streamed in a manner that is easily accessible for public viewing. Further direction is sought to frame guidelines to enable the determination of exceptional cases that qualify for live streaming and to place those guidelines before the full court .

Judgement of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Justice K. S. Puttaswamy & Others Vs Union of India & Others regarding the validity of Aadhaar Act 2016, 26/09/2018. The Judgement of the Supreme Court says that "the requirement under Aadhaar Act to give one's demographic and biometric information does not violate fundamental right of privacy." The Apex Court further said that the collection of data, its storage and use does not violate fundamental Right of Privacy. 

Judgement of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Public Interest Foundation & Others Vs Union of India dated 25/09/2018 regarding the increasing trend of criminalization of politics in India. The issue that emerged for consideration befre the Apex Court was whether disqualification for membership of candidates can be laid down by the Court beyond Article 102(a) to (d) and the law made by the Parliament under Article 102(e).

The Personal Data Protection Bill, 2018 is more fully understood in the context of three key developments: the political and legal challenges to Aadhaar, Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation, and the “tech-lash” against the dominance of some of the largest United States-based tech companies at the expense of the domestic industry. Judgement of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Navtej Singh Johar & Others Vs Union of India for declaring Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code to be unconstitutional. Writ Petition (Criminal) No. 76 of 2016 was filed for declaring "right to sexuality", "right to sexual autonomy" and "right to choice of a sexual partner" to be part of the right to life guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.

Judgement of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of N. Radhakrishnan Varenickal Vs Union of India & Others dated 05/09/2018 regarding freedom of expression. The matter relates to banning a book on the foundation that a part of it is indecent and offends the sentiments of women of a particular faith.
