Joint report of CPCB and GPCB on status of restoration processes in place for dumped gypsum and ground water contamination in pursuance of NGT (Principle Bench, Delhi) order of November 20, 2019 in the matter of Marvada Amrutlal Becharlal vs. State of Gujarat (O.A. No 669 of 2018).

Action taken report in pursuance of National Green Tribunal order of November 20, 2019 regarding remediation process of groundwater and gypsum removal by the industrial unit - Ashapura Perfoclay Ltd. (village Ler, taluka Bhuj, district Kutch, Gujarat) in addition to conducting periodical checks. The tribunal also directed the issuance of a public notice regarding the unfitness of the groundwater for drinking and other uses in the interest of public health. 

A 32 page preliminary investigation report into the environmental carrying capacity for polluting projects and allied issues in Tamnar and Gharghoda blocks of Raigarh district, Chhattisgarh made public on Februry 26, 2020 on the National Green Tribunal (NGT) website. The report was in response to the NGT order of July 22, 2019.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of General public of Sheikhupur Panchayat, Bain Attrain Village Vs State of Himachal Pradesh dated 18/02/2020 regarding illegal operation of M/s ID Sood Ispat factory at Kandrori, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh and polluting the ground water with fine iron particles.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sukhwanti Vs State of Haryana & Others dated 21/01/2020 regarding waste water being discharged from the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at Barwala, into the land of the applicant and other adjoining lands, resulting in damage to the crops, contaminating groundwater, death of the livestock and loss of soil fertility.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vikram Ahuja Vs State of Punjab & Others dated 17/12/2019 regarding treatment of sewage and effluents in District Fazillka and adjoining Districts. According to the applicant, large scale discharge of untreated effluents was taking place in the drains resulting in contamination of ground water and affecting public health.

Question raised in Lok Sabha on Pollution of groundwater, 28/11/2019. As reported by States/ UTs on the Integrated Management Information System of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, as on 27.11.2019, 3.22% rural habitations with 3.73% population are having drinking water sources with quality issues.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of S. Gurdeep Singh, President’s Welfare Association, Sector-18, HUDA, Panipat & Others Vs State of Haryana dated 30/10/2019 regarding illegal operation of spinning mills manufacturing yarns from waste rugs imported from overseas. In the process, dye and bleach are released into water bodies.
