The physico-chemical characteristics of groundwater samples from selected bore wells in Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) area have been studied. A total of 50 samples were collected in the month of May during the year 2005.

In the present study analysis of fluoride content in ground water and surface water of Bhopal region was done. 15 samples were taken from different sampling stations of Bhopal and nearby villages.

Fluoride contamination study has been carried out in Uravakonda mandal of Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh.

The chemical quality of ground water in two tehsils of Satna, that is Sohawal and Majhgawan was studied based on the analysis of 22 water samples. The higher values of certain parameters at certain locations indicate the contamination in groundwater and make the water unsuitable for various applications.

Thane: Contaminated water from four borewells in Bhiwandi has triggered a spate of gastroenteritis. The Bhiwandi-Nizampur Municipal Corporation (BNMC) has sealed the borewells. Two were dug by BNMC and the other two by a local resident, Mamuchi.
