Hyderabad, Aug. 25 The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to develop four regional greenfield airports under the public-private participation (PPP) mode.

To be taken up under the build, own and transfer (BOT) model, these airports are proposed at Orvakal (Kurnool district), Jakranpalli (Nizamabad), Ramgundem (Karimnagar) and Tadepalligudem (West Godavari).

May 29: The Nannari plant, from which the famous Rayalaseema sharbat is made, has been listed among endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. Apart from the Nannari plant, 46 other species from the State have also been put in the red list by the IUCN.

May 13: Unknown persons pumped kerosene into a drinking water pipeline at Venkatadri Colony in Kurnool town on Wednesday, causing panic.
It was at 11 am that the municipal authorities supplied water to Venkatadri Colony residents. But those who consumed the water found that it smelt and tasted like kerosene.

May 5: The exploration team have unearthed gold mines at Betamcherla and Pattikonda in Kurnool district here.
According to sources, two international companies will carry out the mining activities here. Though the Central government has given permission to one of these companies, another company is awaiting clearance, the sources said.

April 9: The district medical and health authorities have alerted people in the city to take precautionary measures against anthrax.
This warning was given in the wake of three deaths suspected to be caused by cutaneous anthrax in Visakhapatnam and confirmed incidence of the disease in Prakasam, Srikakulam, Chittoor, Kurnool and Mahbubnagar districts.
