Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sukhram Malakar Vs State of Rajasthan dated 29/09/2020. A report was sought by the NGT from the District Magistrate, Ajmer and the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board with reference to the allegation of encroachment of lake Gondaval, resulting in narrowing of the lake at Madanganj Kishanganj, district Ajmer.

The report deals with Soorsagar lake water body in the Jodhpur city with respect to its mapping survey and boundary determination. The geographical area around Soorsagar lake had been notified as protected under Section 4 of the Rajasthan Lake (Protection and Development) Authority Act, 2015.

This report provides an update on the status and changes in the number and area of glacial lakes in the three basins - the Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali (including Mahakali) – along with a detailed methodology for the identification of critical glacial lakes in remote and inaccessible mountain terrain using remote sensing tools and technologies.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Green India Heritage Vs State of Uttarakhand dated 05/08/2020. A report was sought from the District Magistrate, Kashipur with reference to the allegation of illegal construction, adversely affecting Girital Lake in Kashipur City, Uttarakhand.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Subhash Datta Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 01/06/2020. The matter related to Santragachi Jheel, a notified bird sanctuary.

The case was instituted on the allegation that the water body was being polluted due to dumping of municipal and plastic wastes and building waste materials. Besides that it was alleged that constructions were being undertaken in the northern side of the jheel by filling up portion of the water body and that there were encroachments and growth of hyacinth.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Southern Zone, Chennai in the matter of Puducherry Environment Protection Association Vs Union of India and Others dated 26/05/2020. The matter related to plan for withdrawal of water from Ousuddu lake a wetland in Puducherry.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Bhanwar Lal & Others Vs State of Rajasthan & Others dated 22/05/2020.

The matter relates to large scale illegal minings being carried out in village Surajpura, Gopal Sagar, Kanakheda, Piplaz and Lehri and surrounding area in Ajmer, Rajasthan, especially near the catchment area of Shakti Sagar Lake. The Tribunal, expressed its displeasure at the lack of compliance of the NGT order of February 28, 2017, which included re-filling of pits, removal of anikits, restoration of the land of catchment area to its original form.
