Eight power companies are known to have bid for the 1,980-Mw thermal power project of Maha Tamil Collieries, in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh.

They are Reliance Power, GVK, Lanco Infratech, GMR, Larsen and Toubro Power, Sterlite Energy, JSW Energy and Indiabulls Power. The cost of the project is around Rs 15,000 crore.

The ambitious monorail project of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) may go for a Private-Public Partnership (PPP) model, after the third year of its commencement.

The authority at present is constructing the project on a cash contract basis with Larson & Tubro and Scomi engineering being the consortium for the 21 km route.

Will continue cashing in on non-core investments at appropriate time.

GERUKAMUKH, Sept 12: Labourers of Larsen and Tubro (L&T) engaged at Lower Subansiri Hydel Project of National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) at Gerukamukh along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border have been agitating since September 7 in support of their various demands like reasonable wage, insurance cover, medical allowance, payment for over duty etc.

Hyderabad, July 14: Engineering and construction major Larsen and Toubro has bagged the Rs 12,132-crore Hyderabad Metro Rail project by seeking the lowest viability gap fund from the state.

This is double relief for the government since the jinxed project is finally taking off and that too without additional financial burden on the state coffers.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the engineering and construction conglomerate, has bagged the Rs 12,132-crore Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. The project would achieve financial closure in six months and take about four years for completion. It would be executed on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis .

MUMBAI: The city's monorail project, a 19.5 km line, which is being done in two phases, Chembur-Wadala and Wadala-Jacob Circle, is likely to be delayed by four to five months.

Reliable sources said that the Phase I of the project, which was to be ready by December 2010, would now be ready by May 2011 and Phase II by December 2011.
