Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Minorities Welfare Minister Ajay Vishnoi handed over sanction letters of Rs one crore 93 lakh for the construction of dwellings of 429 poor beneficiary families under Indira Awas Yojana at the Rural Housing Fair and Benefit Distribution Programme at Patan in Jabalpur. He also provided pattas of housing land to 235 other houseless beneficiaries.

Shillong: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report has revealed that there has been a shortfall in the achievement of targets under most of the flagship programmes in Meghalaya while one project was still incomplete even after 24 years.

According to the report, the shortfall ranged between 41 per cent and 100 per cent in 2009-10.

Dibrugarh, Sept. 12: The Assam government has drawn up a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate 40 families who have been residing at Gorpara crematorium for 10 years now, government sources today said.

Eleven other families who had lost their land will be also rehabilitated at Hatiali, 10km from Gorpara.
