Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Minorities Welfare Minister Ajay Vishnoi handed over sanction letters of Rs one crore 93 lakh for the construction of dwellings of 429 poor beneficiary families under Indira Awas Yojana at the Rural Housing Fair and Benefit Distribution Programme at Patan in Jabalpur. He also provided pattas of housing land to 235 other houseless beneficiaries.
Shillong: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report has revealed that there has been a shortfall in the achievement of targets under most of the flagship programmes in Meghalaya while one project was still incomplete even after 24 years.
According to the report, the shortfall ranged between 41 per cent and 100 per cent in 2009-10.
Clearing the first of many projects that have been stuck in limbo thanks to the Commonwealth Games, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will construct 4,740 houses for the economically weaker section (EWS) in Siraspur, Northwest Delhi.

The flagship programmes of the UPA government in the social sector have had little impact. Spending has been between 25 and 75 per cent in many schemes like the Indira Awas Yojana, the rural housing scheme, the rural electrification scheme and the rural health programme.
JAIPUR: The World Bank has asked the Rajasthan Government to prepare proposals seeking financial assistance for 15 affordable housing schemes to be launched shortly in seven towns of the State.

Dibrugarh, Sept. 12: The Assam government has drawn up a comprehensive plan to rehabilitate 40 families who have been residing at Gorpara crematorium for 10 years now, government sources today said.
Eleven other families who had lost their land will be also rehabilitated at Hatiali, 10km from Gorpara.
