Sixteen students were taken ill after midday meals at a school in Ajmer on Wednesday. Nine students fell unconscious while others complained of nausea soon after having their lunch. District midday meal incharge Ashok Sharma said a dead lizard was found in the meals.
SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Government has entrusted the task of evaluation study to the Council for Social Development (CSD) of Hyderabad which is recognised by Indian Council of Social Science Research under the ministry of Human Resource Development, to study on the progress of centrally sponsored scheme-Mid-day Meal in the State.
The National Programme of Nutritional Support to Primary Education commonly called the Mid-Day Meal Scheme is being impeded in the absence of any effective mechanism initiated by the Department of School Education.
