To prevent wastage of water this summer, the civic authorities in Chandigarh and Mohali have imposed a ban on washing cars and courtyards and watering lawns in the morning hours (5.30 to 9 am).

The ban would come into effect from April 1 and continue till June 30.

In order to ease water crisis in the city, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has formally approved the installation of 10 new tubewells in different parts of the city to quench the thirst of residents in the coming summer season.
