The Standing Committee of the Margao Municipal Council on Thursday approved a surplus budget pegged at Rs 4.46 crore, even as the budget estimates for the first time has proposed to levy a fee of Rs 1 per day on every household for door-to-door collection of garbage.
AHMEDABAD: Civic body's relocation of slum dwellers living along the Sabarmati riverfront has drawn flak from the affected families. As many as 200 families protested against the relocation drive of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) from their present location on riverfront to far off areas in Vatva, Naroda, among other areas with no livelihood options.

Hyderabad, March 16: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has intensified its anti-larval operations by deploying 824 teams that will cover all the houses in the city, at least once a week, to curb the mosquito menace. The GHMC additional commissioner, health, Mr Sk Aleem Basha, appealed to the citizens to allow the GHMC teams into the houses for the spraying operations.
Bhopal Mayor Krishna Gaur expressed displeasure over the slow speed of construction work and directed to accelerate the work with determined quality, while reviewing the ongoing work of Pilot Corridor under BRTS Project on Hoshangabad Road and quality control testing lab here on Monday, along with BMC Additional Commissioner Arvind Dubey.
