Mumbai: Chief minister Ashok Chavan has asked the railways to look for other sources of water to meet their daily requirements.

The Central and Western Railway require about 38.52 lakh litres of water of which the former consumes nearly 23.40 lakh litres to wash local train coaches.

Himachal High Court on Wednesday directed the State Government to provide landfill site to the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) within four weeks near the location where the new bio-conversion plant was being set up.

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi will soon be tabling a proposal to introduce a new policy under which cellular service providers would be barred from installing cell phone towers in residential areas.

Also, under the new policy those who have illegally set up cell phone towers would have to apply to the MCD for regularisation failing which the tower would be demolished.

NEW DELHI: The MCD has decided to rope in a private trust for procurement of 136 mobile health units. These mobile health units will be deployed in various parts of the Capital, with an emphasis on slums and semi-urban areas.
