Transformers and Electricals Limited Kerala (Telk), a state-level PSU, on Wednesday flagged off its first 270 MVA, 400kV, single phase generator transformer, which is slated to be commissioned for Thermal Power Tech Corporation Limited (TPCIL)’s 660Mw super critical thermal power station in Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

So far only a few 600 Mw super critical thermal units, which is a new concept in India, have been commissioned, a company release said.

They will have a combined installed capacity of 14,460 MW

Five thermal power stations with a combined installed capacity of 14,460 MW, which is almost equal to the State's existing total capacity, are being established along the Nellore coast. Minister for IT Ponnala Lakshmaiah informed M.
