Nellore, Aug. 18: Groundwater levels have increased considerably in Nellore district in the recent past. Unlike other parts of the state, Nellore region usually experiences rains during the northeast monsoon between October and December.

However, for the first time in the last 10 years, rains lashed the district during the southwest monsoon between May and July this year.
