The Court has been informed that due to rapid urbanisation in Chennai, the waterways in Chennai have become a prime target for growth of encroachments along the water bodies and hence during flood, the encroached areas near the banks have become more vulnerable and susceptible for inundation.

Order of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy Vs Union of India & Others dated 10/09/2018 regarding leprosy eradication. The Counsel for the Applicant has filed certain 'suggestions' as part of his submissions. Out of the 11 suggestions, 2 of the suggestions pertain to the legislative realm and the Attorney General has aksed for some time in respect of these two aspects. As far as the other 9 suggestions are concerned, Court is of the view that they would fall within the executive sphere.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Madan Singh Bisth Vs. Union of India & Others dated 27/08/2018 regarding excluding all the Revenue Village Chaks from the boundaries of the Rajaji National Park.
