Supreme Court judgement dated 3/10/1991 on Bhopal Gas Disaster

In the suit filed by the Union of India against Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) filed before the Southern District Court at New York, the presiding judge directed the utilisation of 5 Million Dollars deposited by UCC towards Interim Relief Fund, for affording relief to the victims of the Bhopal Gas Leak disaster through the Indian Red Cross Society.

'10-times better' rehab package to woo locals

KOLKATA: In a bid to address the growing opposition to the Jaitapur nuclear power plant project, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) has finalized a new Rs 650 crore rehabilitation package, which it claims is "10 times" more effective than the existing one.
