Order of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of Santosh Daundkar Vrs. Secretary, MoEF, New Delhi & Others dated 23/03/2017. The present Application has been filed to seek shutting down of the manufacturing plant of Indian Rayon on the banks of Devaka River at Junagadh-Veravel, District Gir Somnath, Gujarat on the ground that the manufacturing activity of the Industry generates toxic effluents as well as emits foul odour, and the company is discharging heavy amount of hazardous chemicals in Arabian sea and Devaka river.

Order of the National Green Tribunal regarding cleaning of river Yamuna, 14/03/2017

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Manoj Mishra Vs. Union of India & Others dated 14/03/2017 regarding cleaning of river Yamuna. Question raised in Lok Sabha on Eco-system of Rivers, 14/03/2017. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) along with State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) monitors the river water quality across the country through a network of 1275 monitoring stations on various rivers under the National Water Quality Monitoring Programme (NWQMP). As per the report published by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) in February 2015, 302 polluted river stretches have been identified on 275 rivers based on Bio-chemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) levels, a key indicator of organic pollution.
