NGT directs that all these industries should be put to a joint inspection where their pollution control systems be verified and effluent should be analysed and it should be ensured that no system for injecting the trade effluent into the groundwater are existing in any area of any industry.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board Vs Union of India & Others dated 01/05/2017 regarding industries operating in the critically polluted area situated at Additional Ambernath, Dombivli Phase-I and Phase – II wherein the Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) are found to be not performing upto the standards and do not have adequate hydraulic load capacities and discharging untreated effluent into the River Ulhas.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh Vs State of Uttar Pradesh & Others dated 27/04/2017 regarding distilleries causing pollution to water bodies by extracting groundwater and simultaneously discharging large quantity of effluent/waste water without treatment into river Ganga through river Rapti and Ghaghra, Uttar Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Subhas Datta Vs Ministry of Railways & Others dated 25/04/2017 regarding unhygienic conditions of platforms of Howrah Railway Station and Railway Yard. The issue also deals with inadequate capacity of the STP which is said to have been constructed in the year 1995.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of M.C. Mehta Vs. Union of India & Ors. dated 24/04/2017 regarding restoration/rejuvenationn of River Ganga (Phase - I, Segment B, Haridwar Down to Kanpur Down).  Drains in Uttar Pradesh in Phase-I Segment B contributing to Ganga pollution includes Hemraj and Bijnor sewage drain.
