PALAKKAD: Palakkad district on Tuesday became the first fully electrified district in the country.

Announcing this, Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that the government was working on a target of bringing electricity to all villages in the next two years.

GANGTOK, Dec 10: The State Government has proposed to electrify 145 villages in South Sikkim this year at an estimated cost of Rs 148.81 crore by August next year under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojna (RGGVY), according to the Power and Energy Department Chief Engineer G Targain.
