Government asks market committees to take loan for the job

 

The state government is likely to knock on Centre’s door for additional funds to overcome the budgetary constrains in tackling the problem of bad roads in Maharashtra.

Under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme (MGNREGS), around 1.25 crore mandays employment has been created for over 52 lakh beneficiaries in 54 thousand villages in all districts of Madhya Pradesh. Not only were the jobs provided to the maximum beneficiaries but many important infrastructural development works have also been executed under the scheme.

New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) plans to construct 116 new roads at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore and has given the contract to a private company.
