Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sri Parimalendu Banerjee & Others Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 02/01/2017 regarding the running of M/s Lokenath Metal Works in Alipore, South 24 Parganas District, West Bengal. According to the Applicant the unit during the course of running, has been emitting smoke causing air pollution in the nearby villages.

Judgement of the Supreme Court of India in the matter of Kedar Nath Yadav Vs State of West Bengal And Others dated 31/08/2016 regarding acquisition of land by Tata Motors Ltd. to an extent of about 1000 acres within the mouzas Gopalnagar, Singherberi, Beraberi, Khaserberi and Bajemelia, P.S. Singur, District Hooghly, West Bengal.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Subhas Datta Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 11/08/2016 regarding auto-emission and high air pollution in the cities of Kolkata and Howrah. The Applicant also mentions about the reports of West Bengal Pollution Control Board that showed air quality of Kolkata to be highly polluted in the night hours during the period between mid-October to February end and it was stated to be not only higher than the day time but also five to six times in excess of the safe limit.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Subhas Datta Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 02/08/2016 regarding pollution of water of river Chandrabhaga due to discharge of fly ash laden water from the ash pond of the Bakreshwar Thermal Power Station to the river thereby affecting the aquatic life, agriculture and health of the people in the area.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Subhash Datta Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 04/07/2016 regarding pollution of Santragachi Jheel, Howrah, West Bengal. Tribunal directs Howrah Municipal Corporation to place before the Court the DPR (Detailed Project Report) which would include the expenditure involved in the construction of parallel drain to the Jheel.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Subhas Datta Vs State of West Bengal & Others dated 13/05/2016. The issue deals with losses to biodiversity and livelihood of fishermen from abstraction of excessive amounts of water for irrigation and from alteration of Ganga by Farakka Barrage Project.
